8th Annual Orange County Small Business Conference Presents the
2007 Orange County Small Business of the Year Award to
THE DR. Independent Service in Fountain Valley
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - June 6, 2007 - Congratulations to Jerry Fair, owner of The DR. Independent Service for winning the 2007 Orange County Small Business of the Year Award.
The DR. Independent Service specializes in repairs on BMW, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo automobiles. The prize was awarded at the eighth annual Small Business Conference at Orange Coast College.
Melinda Nish, OCC’s vice president of instruction, presented the award to Fair and commended the car repair shop for building a business built almost entirely on referrals and word-of –mouth.
The DR. started as a small garage more than 18 years ago and now occupies a 20,000-square-foot shop with nearly 20 employees.
This repair shop believes in giving back to the community. Youth groups, civic groups and high school athletic teams use the large space for car washes and meetings. Just recently, Fair worked with Boy Scouts on a merit badge for auto repair.
Hours:7 a.m. to 6p.m., Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.,Saturday; closed Sunday.
